Tyler Menzer is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Iowa, graduating in 2024. His research involves examining the taxes and investor behavior around cryptocurrency and digital assets as well as international taxation and profit shifting. He currently works with the IRS examining tax reporting of cryptocurrencies and has presented his research at the IRS, Office of Financial Research, U.S. Treasury’s Office of Technical Assessment, The American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, The American Taxation Association Mid-year Meeting, the UCSB-ECON Defi Seminar, The IRS-TPC Research Conference and to staff at the Joint Committee on Taxation.
